The traditional Autumn Seminar in 2008 will be arranged at the British Embassy on Friday 26 September from 12.00 onwards.
The theme this year is "A United Kingdom?"

LECTURE TOUR: John Whibley, a cellist in the Hallé Orchestra with the great conductor Sir John Barbirolli, tells about music in Manchester. He will be visiting Turku, Tampere and Oulu between 20 - 25 November.

Shopping in Windermere, the capital of the Lake District
Grasmere - visit Wordsworth’s house, and a walk into the local fells onto the Lion and The Lamb.
Keswick area – visit the prehistoric Castlerigg Stone Circle, and other local attractions
A full days walk up Helvellyn (850m) the third highest mountain in the area
Evening programme of talks and visits to local restaurants and pubs
ACCOMMODATION
The price of the room at the Patterdale hotel is about 300£ (per week per person), including B&B plus dinner. FLIGHTS
There are several flight options available. A Finnair flight from Helsinki to Manchester will cost around 250-300€. From Manchester airport you can take a train to Penrith. Please make your own bookings!
