English Essay Writing Competition 2017
Finnish-British Society ry organizes for the 33rd time the national English-language writing competition in 2016 high school students started their studies. FINNISH-BRITISH SOCIETY RY - INVITATION TO THE ENGLISH WRITING COMPETITION
TIME: Wednesday 18 or Thursday 19 january 2017.
PARTICIPANTS: first-year high school students. The best material from each of the English group. A dictionary or other source material shall not be used. reserved for the writing competition time is 90 minutes. The substance must be written by hand. Substance length of 200-250 words. Articles and prepositions are included. With more than 300-word materials are not taken into account nor to be sent for review.
The jury includes representatives from the Board of Education, University of Helsinki, English language teachers association and the Finnish-British Society.
The first prize is 500 euros for the trip to England. At other prizes is in English literature.
RETURN OF MATERIALS
Deliberation and decision by the school's English teachers to send the best (1) essay from each group in English at the latest by 17.02.2017 to:
Finnish-British Society, Fredrikinkatu 20 A 9, 00120 Helsinki, Finland.
The envelope should be marked 'Writing Competition'.
Each essay must be accompanied by the author's name, age, address, how many years of English the student has studied, as well as the name and address of school. Details of the winners is delivered to schools by 17/03/2017. Finnish-British Society reserves the right to ownership and publication of the essays.

Write ONE of the following.
1. What humans can learn from animals.
2. The best season of the year.
3. My favorite hobby.
4. Write a short fictional story beginning: "I suddenly felt very strange ..."
5. What the world needs now is ...?
